Wood is currently looking for Project Manager – Environment to join its Environmental team in Al – Khobar office

  • Manage and deliver ESIA projects in line with local regulations and international standards including the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards
  • Understands and implements project management principles in delivering projects in a timely manner and within approved budget
  • Assist in the project management and preparation of project documents including Scoping Reports and related technical studies in accordance with project timescales
  • Assist in the production of ESIA reports, and Non-Technical Summaries
  • Analyze data effectively and carry out desk-based studies when required
  • Assist with the planning and execution of baseline surveys
  • Assist with the definition of scopes of work for technical studies and review of the completed studies
  • Participate in team meetings and other meetings as and when required
  • Prioritise project actions and meet commitments on an on-going basis while taking ownership and responsibility for the quality and completion of work
  • Assist in the production of ESIA Work Plans, Survey Execution Plans and other Project Management documents as required
  • Keep up to date with relevant environmental legislation, policy and guidance
  • Manages and produces environmental permitting packs and liaises as necessary with local and governing regulatory bodies on environmental permitting applications
  • Research issues as part of the ESIA process and provide ideas, solutions and expertise to the ESIA team
  • Support business development through assistance with the production of Expressions of Interest and tenders, and to continuously improve our service offering for our clients by developing and establishing key client relationships across various sectors including energy, renewables, water, waste and other infrastructure
  • Understand and comply with quality and health & safety requirements and ensure these are addressed throughout a project
  • Develops required emergency response plans as part of project deliverables
  • Conducts oversight of subcontractors covering environmental baseline studies
  • Evaluates compliance of subcontractor work against technical specifications and scopes of work
  • Reviews work plans, change order requests, payment requests and other subcontractor submittals
  • Demonstrates and maintains competency in a diverse set of environmental regulations
  • Motivates, trains and mentors subordinate staff assigned to his / her tasks or projects

Skills / Qualifications

 

  • BS. degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science
  • MS. degree in related Environmental Sciences or Engineering field (preffered)
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in the Middle East
  • A minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Highly motivated and able to work with limited direction
  • Experience in ESIA studies
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and organizational abilities
  • Willingness and ability to interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, clients and develop effective teamwork relationships
  • Flexibility for potential travel for assignments where required
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as required
