• Manage the leasing contracts of the heavy vehicles & the heavy equipment to ensure that the best deals are made for the company and according to the agreed leasing target.
• Oversee the heavy vehicles & the heavy equipment maintenance schedules to ensure that they are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition.
• Manage the negotiations of comprehensive company`s contracts for the purchase of heavy vehicles/heavy equipment, tyres, spare parts and fuel to ensure that the company is provided with the most cost-effective arrangements to meet identified requirements.
• Design and implement improvements to vehicles, trailers and other heavy vehicles and equipment to ensure that these operate to maximum effectiveness and meet all required specifications.
• Maintain all necessary records of the heavy vehicles & the heavy equipment operations to ensure that results can be analyzed and performance improved where necessary.
• Maintain contact with relevant licensing authorities, the police and insurance companies on a range of issues relating to company fleet.
• Advise top management and staff on all legal and compliance matters relating to the heavy vehicles & the heavy equipment.
• Follow up the implementation of construction/engineering contracts to manage the collection of the payment/invoices within agreed contract terms and timescales.
• Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained, while maximizing efficiencies
• Perform any duties assigned by direct manager.
Education & Work Experience Requirements & Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
