Hiring “Wind Generation Specialist” with the following criteria:
Summary
Support in the identification, development, structuring, tendering, closing and implementation of successful utility scale wind projects. Develop in-house GIS, wind data analysis and wind park design capabilities.Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
- Manage meteorological tower contractors and ensure that wind data is collected and archived according to industry best practices
- Analyze wind data and perform wind park design
- Use GIS software to support development activities
- Support wind turbine procurement activities
- Manage third-party bankable wind energy yield assessments
- Conduct due diligence activities to contribute to the identification of new wind business opportunities that are most feasible from a financial, operational, and technical perspective
- Assist in the development of business cases for new wind and integrated renewables, including feasibility studies and economic evaluation including assessment of capital and operating costs
- Support in structuring wind power and integrated renewable generation projects to achieve maximum third-party investment and lowest cost of electricity
- Monitor and assess implementation progress of wind projects, identify barriers and constraints, and work collaboratively with teams to devise solutions
- Support all wind project feasibility, pre-development, permitting, licensing, and technical activities
- Support environmental and social impact studies
- Provide support in the development of Request for Proposals (RFPs) during wind project development tendering activities by reviewing the technical requirements
- Monitor the projects executed by contractors and ensure their obligations are met with regards to project scope and timeframe
- Work with other team members and stakeholders to schedule and plan meetings for project planning and status updates throughout the course of a project, in addition to helping with planning meeting content and presentations
- Provide Wind Generation Manager with project progress reports including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement
- Handle the flow of information and communications including project reporting, communications materials, success stories, monitoring and evaluation, and budget execution
- Assist in the identification and securing of land for the development of wind projects and ensure that potential sites are evaluated and prioritized based on the factors that affect wind energy production efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to develop NEOM E&W’s specifications related to wind projects (such as project capacity and connection details) for each identified site
- Support the assessment and prioritization of different siting options for wind project development based on technical review and identification of potential stakeholder issues
- Ensure that other technical requirements such as transmission network capacity are considered during the evaluation of possible wind sites
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Renewable Energy), atmospheric science, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in wind energy development
- Relevant experience in the project management of wind energy projects
- Experience with software for the resource assessment and design of utility scale wind projects
- Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS
- Good understanding of utility scale wind technology, emerging cleantech and flexible energy systems and markets
- Strong interpersonal, team and communication skill as well as a focus on efficiency and effectiveness combined with a hands-on, can-do mentality
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a highly dynamic environment
- Ability to communicate well both written and verbal.
